Small Stores, Restaurants, and Gas in Central CO

Many small towns have stores where you can buy soft drinks, candy bars, and snack food. Some stores have a very good selection of staples. There are a few rustic restaurants that serve pretty good hot food. Gas is available in some towns also. Note: stores may be closed for any number of reasons: family emergency, out of season, day off. Usually the stores are open on weekends, and many are open every day. Gas stations are pretty certain to be open during the day, every day, except for very early and/or very late season. In the layout below, towns are shown in their relative positions but not necessarily accurate to any real scale.

	Almont <--The Eddy Cafe - breakfast, lunch, dinner; Whoollybugger. Three Rivers Resort store--> - soft drinks, candy bars, ice cream, snacks, some other food, fishing tackle, clothing. Gas.
	<--Almont Resort Restaurant - full service restaurant (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
	Crested Butte and Mt Crested Butte Many tourist shops and stores, supermarket, bicycle shops, restaurants, B&Bs, and motels. Lots of lodges and motels in Mt Crested Butte, the town up the road. Gas.
	Doyleville A dog and two houses; nothing is available.
	Garfield Monarch Lodge - full service restaurant (breakfast, lunch, dinner). No gas.
	Gunnison Many stores, several supermarkets, WalMart, bicycle shops, hardware stores, restaurants, and motels. Gas. Morrill Griffith's Kawasaki/KTM/Yamaha shop is on the west end of town.
	Harmel's Ranch Store - soft drinks, candy bars, ice cream, some other food. Restaurant. No gas.
	Monarch Pass Monarch Crest tourist stop - soft drinks, candy bars, sandwich shop, souvenirs. No gas.

	Ohio City Opened in 2006 as the Mother Lode, the business is open daily from about 9am to about 9pm. There is a bar with live entertainment on some weekends, restaurant (kitchen open till 8pm), and a convenience store all in the same building. There is a liquor store next door. No gas.
	Parlin QT Store - soft drinks, candy bars, snacks, ice cream, hamburgers and other sandwiches, Mexican food, some other food, fishing supplies. No gas. THIS STORE IS NOW CLOSED.
	Pitkin <--Quartz Cr Lodge - small store has soft drinks, candy bars, snacks. No gas. The Gold Mine/General Store--> - open daily (except Sat) 11am - 7pm, soft drinks, candy bars, snacks, ice cream, hamburgers, some other food and supplies. No gas.
	<--Silver Plume General Store - soft drinks, candy bars, snacks, ice cream, some other food, fishing supplies. Microwave sandwiches (and a microwave). Oil, auto and camping odds and ends. Gas.
	Sargents Tomichi Creek Trading Post - bar/restaurant/store/gas station (formerly Dotty's) - hamburgers and other sandwiches for lunch and dinner. The store has soft drinks, candy bars, snacks, ice cream, some other food, fishing supplies. Rental cabins and RV sites. More info here. Gas.
	St Elmo St Elmo General Store - soft drinks, candy bars, snacks, ice cream, some other food. No gas.
	Taylor Park Reservoir <--Nugget Cafe - buffet breakfast, full menu breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Taylor Park Trading Post--> - very good food selection including soft drinks, candy bars, snacks, sandwiches, meat, produce, canned goods, frozen foods, and bread. Auto and camping odds and ends, oil, fishing supplies. Gas.
	Tincup <--Frenchy's - rustic restaurant serves good food. Tincup Store--> - soft drinks, candy bars, snacks, some other food, fishing supplies. No gas.
